What's already configured out of the box
The one-click template deploys the full huly-selfhost stack: the Huly front-end and backend services (transactor, account, collaborator), a CockroachDB database, Elasticsearch for search, Redpanda as the message broker, and MinIO for file storage, all wired together and fronted by nginx as a reverse proxy. Everything runs as Docker containers managed via docker compose, so restarts and updates go through standard Compose commands rather than systemd units for individual services.
First login
On first launch, allow roughly a minute for all containers to finish initializing before the interface becomes responsive. Huly doesn't use a separate traditional "admin panel" login the way some CMS platforms do — the first person to open the workspace URL creates an account and becomes the workspace owner from there. Optional services like Love (audio/video calls, via LiveKit) and the Mail service for email notifications are not enabled by default and require adding their containers and configuration manually.
Practical notes for the first session
Set the workspace's public URL correctly before inviting teammates, since nginx and internal service URLs are generated from the HOST_ADDRESS value at setup time — changing it later requires re-running the nginx configuration step. Notification preferences (including email via the Mail service) are per-user, not workspace-wide, so each teammate configures their own under Settings → Notifications after joining.
