What's already configured
The one-click install brings up the full Chatwoot stack as Docker containers: the Rails web app, a separate Sidekiq worker handling email delivery, webhooks, and automation triggers, PostgreSQL for data, Redis for queues and caching, and a reverse proxy in front for HTTPS. Database migrations already ran during setup via the db:chatwoot_prepare step, so the schema is ready and you're not starting from an empty install screen.
First login
Open your server's domain or IP in a browser — Chatwoot serves its account creation screen on first visit rather than shipping a preset login and password. The first person to fill out that sign-up form becomes the account's Super Admin, with full access to inboxes, agents, and settings.
What to set up after installation
Outgoing email needs a real SMTP relay (Amazon SES, SendGrid, Mailgun, or similar) added to the environment configuration — without it, notification emails and password resets silently fail. Each messaging channel — WhatsApp Business API, Facebook Messenger, Telegram — is connected separately from the Inbox settings screen using API tokens from that channel's provider, not through the initial install. If you want automated Chatwoot deployment for a second environment or staging server later, the same one-click template can be reused without re-entering the base configuration by hand.
